The Work in Enid Scholarship continues to make an impact by helping talented young professionals build their futures right here in Enid. In partnership with the Cherokee Strip Community Foundation, the scholarship is designed to attract and retain workforce talent, the scholarship assists recipients with student loan debt while encouraging long-term community involvement and career growth in Northwest Oklahoma.
This year’s recipients, Jacqueline Camarena and Kylee Loustaunau Pelfrey, represent two outstanding examples of professionals who are choosing to invest their futures in Enid.
Jacqueline shared that her decision to return to Enid was rooted in her strong family ties and appreciation for the city’s close-knit atmosphere. She plans to establish long-term residency in Enid, beginning with renting before eventually purchasing a home locally.
With a passion for marketing and community engagement, Jacqueline hopes to use her skills to help local businesses strengthen their visibility and connections within the community. She is excited about becoming more involved and giving back to the city that supported her throughout her upbringing.
Kylee and her husband recently made the permanent move to Enid following his employment opportunity with Campbell, Shaffer and Company and her continued work in maternal healthcare. Together, they have purchased a home in Enid and are excited to raise their daughter while becoming active members of the community.
Kylee is also interested in community involvement opportunities such as Junior Welfare League, supporting local businesses, and ongoing volunteer service.
The Work in Enid Scholarship was created to help attract and retain skilled professionals who are committed to living and working in Enid. By easing the burden of student loan debt, the program allows recipients to focus on career growth, homeownership, community engagement, and long-term investment in the region.
Both Jacqueline and Kylee embody the mission of the scholarship through their commitment to professional excellence and their desire to contribute meaningfully to the Enid community.
