We began our shopping spree early at 7 a.m. with specialized coffee and treasures at Sei Bella in Drummond. From there we made the short drive to the Painted Buffalo Trading Co. and Creative Strands Salon and Boutique at the charming Buffalo Junction in Waukomis.
We continued our adventure in downtown Enid. The Turquoise Boutique and Boho Teepee and Creative Comfort are just a few of the stores we visited. But we weren't only interested in shopping the boutiques. We also visited Park Avenue Thrift and Broadway Antiques, stopping only for lunch at On the Sidewalk before heading to The Modern Thread in Heritage Hills.
From Drummond to Waukomis to Enid, we explored over 15 shops, each offering unique and interesting items, and made purchases in each one. My family was impressed by the variety and selection available in our area, noting the diverse range of products and the friendly service we found at each retailer.
I realized that sometimes we take for granted the great business footprint we have locally. ERDA will continue to work to recruit more retailers to our town; however, it is vital to support those who have already invested in our community.
I challenge you to look at your holiday shopping list and buy local. Candy Cane Cash has kicked off for another year and Pink Friday is November 22. What better time to visit the merchants that have chosen to participate. We are fortunate to have many local retailers, now let’s do our part and help this to be one of their best years.
