Scotty’s Treats Launches AI-Powered Vending Machines with Help from Grant

TreatsScotty’s Treats, the beloved mobile food truck known for its gourmet toasted marshmallows, espresso drinks, and homemade snacks, is stepping into the future—thanks to a Microenterprise Grant awarded by the Enid Regional Development Alliance (ERDA). This funding will help the small-town business roll out an innovative new service: AI-powered vending machines designed specifically for rural communities in Oklahoma.

Founded and operated in Helena, Scotty’s Treats has developed a strong local following across northwest Oklahoma. Now, with the help of a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), the business is taking a leap into tech-enabled retail, aiming to bridge the gap in essential goods for areas without full-service grocery stores.

The 24/7 vending machines won’t just carry fan favorites like iced coffees, lemonades, and charcuterie-style snacks—they’ll also be stocked with grocery essentials such as milk, eggs, butter, cheese, and even household staples like toilet paper. All treats and meals will be crafted in Helena, continuing the business’s commitment to homegrown quality.

“We’re thrilled to support Scotty’s Treats as they pioneer this new model of rural retail access,” said Marcie Mack, Executive Director of ERDA. “This project combines local entrepreneurship, food innovation, and technology to meet real needs in our rural communities.”

The AI-driven system has already been successfully market-tested, and owners are optimistic about scaling the model. Scotty’s Treats is also seeking collaborations with other Oklahoma-based suppliers to maintain competitive pricing while supporting local agriculture and production.

This project is a shining example of how small businesses can harness innovation to make a big impact. Thanks to the ERDA and the City of Enid’s CDBG program, Scotty’s Treats is helping redefine convenience and accessibility in underserved parts of Oklahoma—one smart vending machine at a time.
